tROUBLESHOOTING: Installation issues

FIRST: Make sure the Photosaver is not connected through a USB hub. the PhotoSaver should be connected directly to a USB port on the computer itself.
IMPORTANT: you will need to plug in the PhotoSaver into a USB 2.0 Compliant port. If you are unsure if you have USB 2.0 click here.
SECOND: Make sure that the display settings control panel is set to 32 bit color.

THIRD: Please ensure that you have the following minimum specifications for your computer.
- 300 MB of free and available space on the hard disk and more than 700 MB of RAM memory.
- Windows XP service pack 2 or higher. If you have Windows XP Service Pack 1 you must either update your computer via the Microsoft Update or install the Direct-X drivers that are included on your CD.
- If you have Windows Vista please install the appropriate 32 bit or 64 bit drivers.
IF YOU ARE HAVING TROUBLE WITH YOUR SOFTWARE INSTALLATION AND USING THE PRODUCT FOR THE FIRST TIME PLEASE follow these steps in this order:
- Unplug ALL USB devices from the computer
- Unplug the PhotoSaver or Photo2File
- Click on START and go to the PROGRAMS MENU > then go to the OVT Folder and Uninstall any previous version of OVT Scanner using the unistaller that is located here.
- Click on START and go to the CONROL PANELS >"ADD OR REMOVE PROGRAMS". Remove any previous versions of PhotoImpression and ALL programs that start with OVT that are currently installed on your computer..
- Restart the computer
- Download and install the latest drivers and BlazePhoto application on your computer the most recent software is located here.
- Install the Drivers again and restart your computer.
- Plug in the PhotoSaver
- The Hardware install window should come up when the PhotoSaver is connected the first time.
- Accept all of the hardware install screens to install the hardware drivers automatically.
- Launch BlazePhoto
- From the BlazePhoto Menu click on "Get Photos" and "Acquire from Scanner"
- This will launch another window. On this window make sure that "OVT Scanner" is selected.
- Next you will see a preview window where you can Check the preview image from the slide/negative or print holder and Save the image to your computer.
IF these steps do not solve your problem it is possible that you have a hardware driver issue. Please go to the Hardware Driver Troubleshooting Page to check your system
