NOTE: ArcSoft PhotoImpression is bundled with many other hardware products such as Smart Phones, MP3/MP4 players, Scanners and other consumer electronic products. It is possible that you may already have other versions of PhotoImpression installed on your computer. Please check your programs menu to see if you have any previous versions. Each version of ArcSoft PhotoImpression is matched to the hardware product that is was bundled with. Therefore, it is important to use the ArcSoft PhotoImpression version that is included on the CD ROM in order to get the best results from your PhotoSaver.

IF you attempt to install the version of PhotoImpression into an existing location where a previous PhotoImpression version already exists then it is possible that software conflicts could happen. Please follow these instructions if you are running 2 or more versions of PhotoImpression to avoid conflicts.

 

To find out which version of ArcSoft you are running:

Launch Arcsoft PhotoImpression and click on the HELP menu:

Then Choose "About PhotoImpression, This should bring up a screen that will show the version number:

The correct version for the PhotoSaver should be V 6.1.8.106 or V 6.1.11.128

 

if you have a previous version of arcsoft photoimpression installed on your computer then Please follow these instructions:

1) Uninstall ArcSoft PhotoImpression: that came with the PhotoSaver:

  • Insert the CD that came with your PhotoSaver and click on the option "ArcSoft Software".
  • On the next screen click the option to "REMOVE"

2) Reinstall ArcSoft PhotoImpression (but this time choose a NEW name for the installation folder)

  • Launch the CD ROM installer again and click on the option "ArcSoft Software.
  • on the screen "Choose Destination Location click on the browse button to rename the installation folder.

  • Rename the installation folder location to a DIFFERENT NAME-- for example you can call this installation folder PhotoImpression61 or PhotoImpression-PhotoSaver so you can remember which version to use with your PhotoSaver product

  • After you confirm this name will see the new folder name listed on the Destination location screen. Then click next to complete the installation.

  • When you launch PhotoImpression go to the Start Menu. If you have 2 or more versions of PhotoImpression loaded on your computer you will see each version listed in a different folder. When using the PhotoSaver it is important to use the version that is matched to this product so please choose the correct version.

NOTE: for future installations of PhotoImpression that may come with other products DO NOT install these versions into the same folder as this version otherwise it could corrupt the application and the PhotoSaver may not work correctly.
