DRIVERS AND SOFTWARE UPDATE September 1 2010 UPDATE
The software below has been tested and approved for the following computer systems:
- Windows XP- Service Pack 3 or higher (32 of 64 bit operating system)
- Windows Vista- (32 or 64 bit operating system)
- Windows 7- (32 or 64 bit operating system)
NOTE: You must have USB 2.0 connections on your computer. Older operating systems are not compatible. This product is not currently compatible with Mac
CHECK YOUR CD ROM VERSION NUMBER:
- Check the date on the CD ROM that came with your product. If the date says Sept 1 2010 or later then you DO NOT need to install the update below-- you have the most recent software on the CD.

- If the date on your CD ROM is earlier than Sept 1 2010 then please follow BOTH STEPS BELOW.
Please note that there are 2 steps for installing the software and drivers necessary to capture images with your Photo2File or PhotoSaver product. Please follow the instructions below carefully;
STEP ONE: INSTALL THE DRIVER
STEP TWO: INSTALL THE BLAZE PHOTO APPLICATION
1. INSTALLING THE PHOTO2FILE / PHOTOSAVER DRIVER (OVT Scanner):
- Before installation please quit all
applications that are running.
- UNINSTALL YOUR OLD OVT SCANNER DRIVER: If you have a previous version of the driver loaded on your system please uninstall this first by following these steps:
- From Windows click on START >> go to ALL PROGRAMS >> then
select the OVT Directory-- Inside this directory you will
find a Uninstaller application. Select this icon to launch the uninstaller.
- Follow the on screen instructions to completely remove the old driver from your system.
- UNINSTALL YOUR OLD BLAZEPHOTO APPLICATION: If you have a previous version of BlazePhoto loaded on your system please uninstall this first by following the steps below. NOTE: if you have already captured images using BlazePhoto these images will not be deleted when you uninstall BlazePhoto.
- From Windows click on START >> go to ALL PROGRAMS >> then
select the BlazePhoto Directory-- Inside this directory you will
find a Uninstaller application. Select this icon to launch the uninstaller.
- Follow the on screen instructions to completely remove the old driver from your system.
- Disconnect the Photo2File or PhotoSaver if you have this connected to your computer
- Restart your computer
- After restart click on the link listed BELOW to install the new driver.

- After you click the link above you will see the following dialog box:

- Click the option to "SAVE FILE" and choose to your computer desktop as the location to save the file to.

- After the file has downloaded the application may automatically launch. If not then double click the file "Photo2FileDriver.exe" on your desktop to launch the installer. After the installer launches you will see the following warning message:

- click "RUN" to continue
- Next choose Install on the following screen:

- The files will be extracted onto your computer and the driver installation application will launch automatically

- NOTE: The Installer will detect your operating system type automatically. If you have a 32 bit system the X86 Setup will be selected. If you have a 64 bit system the X64 Set up will be selected.
- Select Next on the following screen:


- The driver will now be installed on your computer.
- Please go to step 2 below to Install the BlazePhoto Application BEFORE you connect your Photo2File or PhotoSaver to you computer.
NOTE: with The IBM Thinkpad it has
been reported that you should connect the PhotoSaver or Photo2Fileto the USB port during
the restart of the computer - the PhotoSaver will be recognized during the
boot up process of the computer and then should install the drivers automatically.
In all other cases you should connect the PhotoSaver
AFTER the computer has restarted. When you connect the PhotoSaver after
the driver installation the Hardware Wizard should launch - then choose
to install the drivers automatically.
2. INSTALLING THE BLAZE PHOTO APPLICATION
NOTE: We have developed the new driver to work with the software application "Blaze Photo". If your product was originally shipped with ArcSoft PhotoImpression you may continue to use this for photo editing purposes. However, for capturing in images we do not recommend using PhotoImpression since the capture settings are not optimized for use with this application. You will get better results by using the Blaze software that is available at the link below.
IMPORTANT: This software is available only to current customers of the Spectare PhotoSaver- This software should not be copied and distributed. Therefore we have posted this software in a password protected folder of our site.
